Pray / Offer a mass

The life of prayer in a monastery is first and foremost anchored in prayer in communion with the whole Church. This liturgical prayer attains its summit in the celebration of the mass, the true core of the monastic day. From this core radiate the traditional “hours” of the Office, according to the daily schedule of the monk.

Make a retreat

The Abbey of Saint-Wandrille offers several places for those wishing to make a spiritual retreat. The community does not organise retreats, but it is always possible to request to meet a brother to discuss spiritual matters.

Guided tour

The ruins of the former abbey and the current church are open to the public from Matins to Compline, except from 05.15 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 21.15. A guided tour is available at 15.30 from 21 March to the end of June, and from September to 1st November (All Saints). On Sundays and Holy Days there is an additional visit at 11.30. During July and August, there are three tours daily, at 11.30, 15.00 and 16.00.
